Approx Dates of Stay: 8/4/03-8/8/03. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? It is a wonderful place to bring the kids. The pool and water playground are great. There are activities from 9:00 in the morning until 9:00 at night. The sites are a little too close together, however. But, most of the time you are enjoying the many activities, and not at your site. Nobody I saw seemed to mind the closeness. Owners and Staff: The large staff at Jellystone was incredible. When you arrive, you have an escort to your site. The staff handling the activities were great. They always had a smile and were great with the kids. The two staff members that stood out the most were Michael and Valerie. The staff was there to handle whatever needed to be done. Camp landscaping and surroundings: The landscaping was beautifully done. There were flowers around the pool area. The grass was always mowed. The grounds are very well kept.

Overall Site Quality: fair-average. Good/Bad site #'s: Bad sites 151-155, which are filled with water when it rains. The best sites seem to be near the river, because of the privacy, but sites too close to the river such as 20-37 can also be filled with water when it rains. We were there during some torrential downpours and saw many tents that were flooded. If you have a camper, these sites might not be a problem. The best sites are the cabin sites, especially 149C. It is a little too far from the bathrooms and the activities, but is very spacious and private. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, somewhat small, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise, group camping area. There are a lot of sites in this campground. Which site is best depends on whether you want to be close to the activities, or have some privacy and shade. This campground has both. The cabins have the best sites, especially those cabins towards the back of the campground. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: There are many comfort stations around the campground. Most have showers. The one near the pool has laundry facilities. The comfort stations are very clean. Do not try to take a shower before 6:30 a.m., as they are locked between 11:00 p.m. and approximately 6:30 a.m. Activities and Amenities: pool, river, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. The pool and water playground were the best. The playground was large and had a lot of equipment. The camp store had everything you could ever need. The best part of the campground is that almost everything is in one central area. The snack bar, mini golf, pools, hot tub, playground, outside pavillion and hayride are all in one area. The store and rec hall are just up the road. There are additional playgrounds and a softball field in another part of the campground, but basically, everything you need is in one place. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Jellystone is very close to all the Lake Region activities. It is also about four miles away from I-93, which can bring you into the White Mountains. A Hannaford and a Wal-Mart are close by. Last comments: We spent four days at Jellystone and had a fabulous time. We really enjoyed the pools and candy bar bingo. The kids loved seeing Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy. We plan to come back next year. We really loved our cabin, but will most likely have a regular site next time. I would definitely recommend staying here.
