Leslie Odierno gave us this review on 07/27/08. Dates of Stay: July 15-16,2008. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? 5th Wheel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 31 foot
Overall Campground Rating: not good.
What stood out? small crowded face to face sites. we had NO grass site needed new gravel all washedout from rain. picnic table was ancient. sites was so small we had about 5 feet between our site and a face to face site and shared that 5 feet with 2 ancient picnic tables.
Owners and Staff: The campground is just off the beautiful Route 81 in Virginia staff was some young girl giving you your site and not very knowledgeable. the staff was quick to kick me out of a huge old amusement building with few games or activities, because I had a small dog. he was apologetic but had food service in there. (I understand) they had a small but nice pool with a big water slide into it. I did not go in because the water was freezing (im from Florida) Laundry was very old, stuffy guest area, old, 2 nice swings outside the restrooms
Camp landscaping and surroundings: the campground was well used and quite worn. it was in need of repair . needed more gravel, weeds growing in leandscaping it looked like it had got away from them not enough help. the campground sloped up from the office they had a dog area chained in one for large and one for small dogs my dog didnot like it Ithink it had too many smells. there was a grassy area down front off to the side which my dog liked and I liked the walks we were able to take. big playgound had cabins
Overall Site Quality: not good
Good sites: upper sites might be better the sites on the sides without sewer weremuch bigger Bad sites: 10 was the WORST site and we had it.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, face to face on the row we were on. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, somewhat small, I thought this was the worst site I ever had until I got to Falling waters in WV the next night. Again I got the worst site in the campgound there with a 3foot front yard and a 5 foot drop into a ditch.and no sewer dont go ther either. I must have had a dark star on me during this time.
Cell Phone Service: Cell Phone AT&T worked fine. I think they had wifi cant remember if they did it was free. I have an air card from SPrint and I may have used that cant remember.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: dont rmemeber seeing any like some others have very many I dont think this one had any. or maybe one or 2.
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: the grout on the tile floor was very dirty black not white like on edges. toilet seats bowl clean but I was not impressed. I think they are understaffed and everything is in need ofupdates .
Activities and Amenities
off road but easy to get to no road noise
Last comments: I hated the site they gave us. HATED IT>
