Approx Dates of Stay: July 2002. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? The campsites were small and very close together. It could get loud at night. They did not reinforce a quiet time. There was a nice new playground for younger kids. Not very much for teenagers to do. But it was under new owners and they had plans to improve some things. Great lake to rent a boat and for fishing. Owners and Staff: The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Most sites were small and under pines the ground was a bit rocky for a tent.
Overall Site Quality: fair-average. Good/Bad site #'s: Most were small or average size sites but were close together. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, somewhat small, close to the road, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers. Some campers were loud and radios were also let to be played at night. Seasonal campers were quiet.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The bathrooms need some redoing most of the time the toilets wouldn't flush. The showers were nice but sometimes the floors were muddy. Showers cost 25 cents for 5 minutes. To brush your teeth or shave you had to do it at sinks that were outside. Activities and Amenities: pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, playground, camp store, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. The pool was nice but could get crowded at busy times. The rec hall was just a very small building with a few video games. The store was well equipped. The lake was the best. Great for renting a boat and fishing. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. There are restaurants and a Wal-mart and grocery stores just a short drive away. Last comments: Would possibly visit again because it is close-by but overall not my first choice.
