Molly gave us this review on 08/05/07. Dates of Stay: August 4-8. Will You Return? Undecided. What did you camp in? Tent
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? The Campground has really great Tent sites away from the Trailer/ camper of the campground
Owners and Staff: Frindley, helpful staff!
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Wooded, all lots had plenty of shade. The campground is on a lake, but it is on the weedy, lilly pad end- so you cannot swim there.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: W 1 & 2 are the best tent sites... T 18, T 12, T 7, T 17, T 15 Bad sites: anything up near the pool and the 60'2-80's are really, really crowded. Avoild sites near bathrooms- becase doors slam all night
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, somewhat small, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. I felt like the Woodmore is 2 separate campgrounds. Up near the pool and playground is VERY crowded, no privacy, and Noisy. the lower tent/primitive sites are very large, private and comfortable. I must add that the owners of this campground seem to do very little about noise at night. We were kept awake by very loud drunk obnoxious people until nearly 3 a.m. In talking with other people, this seems to be a common complaint. There are a lot of kids here which is great to see, but get earplugs or Ipod music if you plan on sleeping at night.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: cluttered, looked like a trailer park in some sites. Others were very well kept and decorated. I would say half were nice, half were not.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: wear your flip flops in teh showers, they are clean and updated, but muddy
Activities and Amenities
pool, lake, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall,
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, nature trails. Mt Monadnock was close, Wal-mart is a 5 minute drive, but the camp store offered everything we needed.
Last comments: This place would be much better if some of the camper sites were spread out a bit, and if the excessive rude, foul mouthed noise stopped at 11:00 like it is supposed to.
