MonIvy gave us this review on 07/16/05. Approx Dates of Stay: drive thru on 7/15/05.
Overall Campground Rating: not good.
What stood out? We did a drive thru because we were thinking of a making a reservation for a long weekend. First impression was not good. WE parked in front of the game room, the building looked old and unsafe. The roof dipped down. For us it got worse from there.
Owners and Staff: Spoke with office staff, I don't know if one was the owner. Very nice and very friendly people to speak to. When we left the office we were excited to check out the sites but unfortunately were greatly disappointed.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Not much for landscaping - don't think there was any room for that - sites are extremely close together - saw lots of tree roots.
Overall Site Quality: terrible
Good/Bad sites: We really didn't see one site we would like. Very close together on all sides of site. Tall pines so no bush or trees between you. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: somewhat small, close to the road, I can't remember if there were picnic tables or fire rings - every camper was packed in and you couldn't see anything.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: Fair amount of seasonals. We noted that a lot of the travel trailers were old. Lots of junk around a few of them.
Comments on restrooms and showers: Did not go in restrooms - we only drove past one - outside didn't look that great, but they could have been clean inside.
Activities and Amenities
pool, video games, pool table, tv or movies, playground, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, security gate. The pool was very small and looked very very cloudy. The playground looked very new and as far as we are concerned was the best thing about the place.
What is nearby? Did not see any grocery stores or restaurants nearby.
Last comments: Glad we checked it out - so now we know it's not for us.
