Approx Dates of Stay: August 1-2 and August 17-19, 2004. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? What a great place to stay in the most beautiful and unspoiled part of Vermont! The owners are friendly and helpful, the campground is scenic and very peaceful, and the place is kept meticulously -- clean bathrooms, pretty flowers, lots of nice touches. Owners and Staff: It's family-run by the LaBerge family, and they're friendly and extremely nice. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Very pretty -- lots of trees (the tent section is all wooded), flower beds, neat and clean and very Vermont.
Overall Site Quality: very good. Good/Bad site #'s: Our tent site, # 34, was large and wooded, and quite private except for one other site next door (which was empty both times we stayed there). It was great for our family because it was close to the bathrooms and water tap, but not _too_ close (we have two small children). Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, picnic table, fire ring, Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, There are quite a few of them, but they don't overwhelm the campground -- there are lots of non-seasonal campers too.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Clean and pleasant.
Activities and Amenities: pool, lake, swimming, recreation hall, playground, camp store, pets allowed, laundry room, Well-stocked and pleasant camp store, What is nearby? ocean or lake, nature trails. Lake Willoughby, half a mile down the road, is gorgeous, and there are lots of other beautiful lakes nearby -- this is a truly lovely part of Vermont. Last comments: We love this campground! We'll definitely be back next year.
