pupmum08 gave us this review on 07/28/08. Dates of Stay: 07/08. Will You Return? Undecided. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? Great sites that had clean tables and a nice sized fire ring. Shaded and quite big.
Owners and Staff: The people at the campground were nice enough, however they do not enforce quiet times so it was quite noisy. The lifeguards are super nice.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: shaded and very clean for the most part. The bathrooms are gross though.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: we stayed at area 2 site 50. Large and pretty private. Bad sites: Some sites are very small and although ReserveAmerica (the clearinghouse for NH State Park reservations) says a pop up can fit, they clearly cannot. ReserveAmerica is very hard to deal with if there is a change that is needed. They are very rude and unhelpful.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, somewhat small, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise, Quiet times are not enforced, so if you are next to a site with partier, you are on your own.
Cell Phone Service:
Seasonal Campers and Campsites:
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Disgusting bathrooms and showers.
Activities and Amenities
lake, swimming, fishing, boat rentals, playground, camp store; Camp store at the beach is very nice and has everything. The beach and lake are just beautiful, but the day visitors make it very crowded on the weekends and they can be VERY RUDE!
What is nearby? restaurants, nature trails.
Last comments: Out of 10, we gave this a 7 1/2. We subtracted points for noise, rude people at the beach, and bathrooms. Gave a half point back because the beach was awesome once the day visitors left. It would have been a perfect weekend if they enforced the quiet times, but it wasn't until 1am until the group next to us quieted down. The site we had was large and pretty private, but some are quite small.

Unfortunately, it appears nothing has changed. We stopped camping here ~6 years ago for the same issues you list. Too many late night wild parties going to 1am or later. Bathrooms that were, for lack of a better word, disgusting.
Talks with park staff never accomplished anything. Phone calls and emails to the appropriate state agencies were never answered.
It’s ashame because this is truly a fabulous location.
Posted by campne on 08/03/08We also stopped camping here for the same reasons. Pawtuckaway has the same problems, the beach is a landfill at the end of the day. It’s too bad the state won’t do anything about this.
Posted by ken on 08/06/08Yikes! This is a favorite location for my sister-in-law and here family. It looked really nice when we visited a year ago but we didn’t stay late.
