Jeff gave us this review on 07/04/06. Dates of Stay: 7/2006. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 27ft

Overall Campground Rating: horrible.

What stood out? Campground had water and electricity problems, poor customer service, staff was rude, sites too close together and had to share campfire with 10 other sites.

Owners and Staff: Friendly until we had problem, than they could care less.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Nice

Overall Site Quality: terrible

Bad sites: 15

Campsite hookups: electric, water, wifi Campsite Descriptions: We just returned from long weekend. We paid $48 a night and we had an unhappy experience our first since we have started camping 17 years ago. The first day the water was brown and then the second day we had no water for a few hours in the morning, as well as no electricity, than the next day we lost electricity twice for a few hours and thats is when we decided to call the office and see what was going on. In all our years of camping we have never had this happen. The office staff was rude and said "it's not our fault you have no power" (Only a few sites had no power, it was not the whole campground. )We asked if we could have some kind of compensation or money back due to the fact the problem kept happening, due to no fault of ours and the office staff hung up on us. We called back and they said that this was no hotel, but we should go to one if we are not happy. They really did not care if we had a good experience at their place. Well, we are going to make sure we tell everyone our negative experience and how unhappy they made us.

On another note: The campground gave us sites with a little less than 2 feet between our awning and the next site. However the seasonal sites had huge areas with gazebos. And we had to share campfire ring with about 10 sites. Maybe they don't want weekenders at there campground perhaps they should change to a private seasonal only campground????

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: snobby seasonal campers

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? don't remember.

  1. I would like to respond to this review as, being one of the owners, I want to please as many people as possible and minimize the unhappy experiences.

Firstly I would like to state that we did have 2 problems that effected this customers site.  The first was a water break on Friday that was repaired as soon as it was reported.  The water service was out to this customer for approximately 2 hours.  Secondly, on Saturday, we had one of our 12 main breakers trip off which unfortunately effected this same customers area.  At this point, this customer called our office swearing at us and demanding money for his troubles and stated that he was going to put a stop on his credit card payment.  Of course my staff hung up on him.  I would have done the same.  Anyway, his power was out for about 15 minutes.  We turned the breaker back on and began to investigate why it had tripped (first time in 20 years for this area).  When we found no visible reason why it should have tripped we assumed that it was just doing it’s job by tripping to prevent an overloaded circuit.  Hours later it happened again so we replaced the breaker.  This time his power was out for no more than 10 minutes, because I was prepared to take this action should it happen.

All his comments about everything else are just an attempt to scar our image as a first class business.  Can you get this kind of early response at most placed? I think not.  I would appreciate everyones overlooking this review and give us a shot.  You’ll be pleased.
