North Conway, N.H. -
Jm gave us this review on 08/24/05. Approx Dates of Stay: August 2005.
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? The campground is very small located on the Saco River.
Owners and Staff: The staff/ owners were very nice.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: The campground is very wooded there were one or two sites that were sunny but I think these were seasonals that were staying on those sites. Nice beach area along the river but need water shoes because it is very rocky in the water and on the beach.
Overall Site Quality: fair-average
Good/Bad sites: We had site 63 which they say is a pull thru site but it looked like a cut thru road when no one was camping there, we felt like we just stoped in the middle of the road and set up camp. In fact the first day we were there people we actually cutting thru our site. Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, cable, other wi-fi Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise, Most sites were large plenty of room.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers,
Comments on restrooms and showers: I never had to use the rest rooms so I cannot comment on them. They were however a little bit of a walk for the tenters that camp along the river, I believe they are the B 1-6 sites.
Activities and Amenities
river, swimming, fishing, boating, video games, pool table, playground, camp store, pets allowed, laundry room, The playground was old metal slide, old fashioned merry-go round thing like they had when I was a kid, fairly new swings. Tractor ride every night that would take you around the campground.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, amusements, Story land is a 15-20 minute ride down the road depending on traffic the North Conway outlets are also near-by
Last comments: Nice campground but probably would not stay again as there are no scheduled activities for the kids, it is small and there is not much to do there Is nice though if you were going to the attractions that are close by.
