Collette Boisvert gave us this review on 10/12/06. Dates of Stay: I am seasonal there. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: We have a 40ft park model travel trailer

Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? This is a campground that still LOOKS like a campground. There are plenty of trees with dirt roads. Very rustic for someone looking to leave the city behind. Cost is amazingly low compared to similar campgrounds.

Owners and Staff: Owners and campers are like family to each other and everyone around them. Can't get any friendlier.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Even though it's only a short distance out of the city, it's very woodsy and rustic. A must see if you want to "camp" (not go to a hotel) but still not have to "rough" it. Beautiful setting.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: site #50 is great because it's one of the larger sites right on the river, and still close to the playground and showers/toilets, etc. Bad sites: I don't recommend the first sites closest to the road as you enter, due to some road noise at night.

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Seasonal has direct sewer hookups (no need to "dump") Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. The toilet/shower house is like a log cabin and has large shower stalls that include changing areas. They do NOT charge for showers (long as you want), unlike most campgrounds, and the facilities are kept clean.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, One big happy family that stay in touch even during off season. Everyone takes pride in their area and in their campers, so it is all well kept. We look out for each other too (security).

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Right next to the playground is convenient for the children.

Activities and Amenities

river, swimming, fishing, recreation hall, bingo, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate. Again, only come here is you want to unwind and have fun. Don't come if you want paved roads and cabins to rent. It is an old fashioned camp ground, and us seasonal's like it that way!

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Whatever you want or need is close enough by to make your visit comfortable.

Last comments: I saw a negative comment about this campground that said they don't have enough trees in between sites, which I think is crazy. There are many trees, and I've been to camps that have nothing but open sites and sun beating down. Decide for yourself and visit this "small town" family campground!
