Approx Dates of Stay: May 2,3, & 4 2003. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? Well laid out, built on the side of a mountain, new campground with new facilities, all camp buildings are "log" style from trees cut down during construction. Stunning mountaintop views. Owners and Staff: Owner is on premises and ready to take care of his campers. Store staff, check in staff, activities staff all friendly, cheerful, and courteous.Camp landscaping and surroundings: Sweeping mountaintop views, lots of planted grass, mature trees, 18 hole mini golf course with lots of waterfalls. Campground is well landscaped, no trash anywhere.
Overall Site Quality: excellent. Good/Bad site #'s: Sunny sites with best views are all on Stella D'Oro Drive, wooded/shaded in the Bleeding Heart Hollow area, ST46 thru 40 are pull thrus, we liked ST 37 and ST 35 which backed up to really terrific playground. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, picnic table, fire ring. Mostly hard pack gravel stone dust, minor Rt 2 noise sometimes. Most of the sites we saw where big to enormously big. Many sites are terraced as this is an RV Park built on the side of a mountain. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Always clean and adequately supplied at all hours of the day.
Activities and Amenities: pool, pond, swimming, fishing, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station. Terrific three pool complex, great arcade/game room, terrific mini golf, fireplace, rec hall and dance hall. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, nature trails. Close to St. Johnsbury, Cabot Cheese, many maple syrup makers. Last comments: Really liked this RV Park. Owner has done a fantastic job building and maintaining this really special place nestled in northern Vermont. Plenty of nearby streams and lakes for fishing, and boating. Only about 3 1/2 hours from the North Shore area of Boston.
