Approx Dates of Stay: April 24, 25, 26. Overall Campground Rating: not good. What stood out? Very Large, looked like nice pools. Owners and Staff: Seemed like they cared, I had no cable at my site and reported it, Friday morning, was told they would take care of it later in the day. Left Sunday, still no cable. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Better have good headlights, and an awake co-pilot. Campground is overgrown, sites narrow with boulders right in the way where you need to pull in to get in your site. Campsite are in between permanent sites, like a trailer park.
Overall Site Quality: not good. Good/Bad site #'s: Did not see any that would make me return, SORRY!! Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, cable. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, somewhat small, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring. Campsite was overrun with leaves, and very dusty. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: cluttered, friendly campers, too many seasonal sites
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Bring your hiking boots, must walk to bathrooms, there are no parking areas by bathrooms, and no parking area around pool.
Activities and Amenities: pool, swimming, recreation hall, video games, pool table, playground, kids planned activities, camp store, snack bar, pets allowed. Pets are allowed, but only on your site. There is no pet walk and your dog has to do his thing only on your site, they are not allowed to be walked in the campground!!!! What is nearby? Not to far of a ride to Mystic Seaport or aquarium. Last comments: BEWARE. They are not pet friendly. The showers were a little dirty, and of course after getting undressed I go into one which does not work. You must walk to bathrooms, there really is no parking areas around bathrooms or pool, and I mean long walks. My site still had about six inches of leaves. Cable did not work, and my neighbor's "permanent site" left his mattress on the front yard for days. The saturday night, since the campground never picked it up he decided to burn it, and I woke up the next morning with ashes all over new RV and Truck. I have to say honestly, he was nice and gave us some kindling, just poor judgment burning a mattress. I sent a e-mail about my unhappiness, and I never heard a reply.
