wersilly gave us this review on 07/13/08. Dates of Stay: July 2008. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 31 Ft.
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? Good: Very nice staff. Great prices. Nice pool and sports field. Friendly seasonal campers. Very active in raising money for Make-A-Wish. Bad: Most of the campground is seasonal campers. Sites are small, we hardly had any place to park our truck without being on one of the sites next to us or hanging into the roadway. Campers are really packed together.
Owners and Staff: Everyone we spoke to was very friendly and helpful.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: The campground is surrounded by mountains. The campground has a rustic feel to it.
Overall Site Quality: fair-average
Good sites: Since most sites are seasonal, the good sites are limited. We stayed in site 111 and it was very short and not very wide. We had a camper in front of ours, in back of ours and we backed up to a third. The back row #113-132 were the best sites. Bad sites: 80-this site was sideways behind ours and they had to back into the site at least 30 yards between other campers!! There were some other bad ones, but I think most were seasonal.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Water hookup in many sites was located a foot in the ground, with just the spicket sticking up. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, somewhat small, picnic table, fire ring,
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, cluttered, friendly campers, too many seasonal sites. Almost the entire campground is seasonal sites and lots of them own Prowler campers! All the seasonals that we met were VERY nice.
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The restrooms were very dirty Saturday afternoon.
Activities and Amenities
pool, pond, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, live entertainment, bingo, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, Very nice camp store. Pool was small but very clean. Mini-golf was covered, it was $1.00 for 10 holes. Boat rentals were $1.00. Soft serve ice cream.
What is nearby? nature trails. The campground is located in a rural area. There are several historic sites and amusements, but they are all a fair distance away.
