Approx Dates of Stay: Fourth of July weekend. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? Roomy wooded sites with plenty of room between you and your neighbor. Owners and Staff: This campground is run by the DEC. Staff is very courteous and responsive. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Wooded sites, some with views of the lake. The lake is small and doesn't allow motorized boats. There are canoes and row boats to rent, and you can bring your own. Kayaking and canoeing are possible on the creek that feeds the lake. There are two swimming beaches, one in the camp area and oneon the opposite side of the lake in the day use area.
Overall Site Quality: very good. Campsite hookups: primitive tent. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, private, picnic table, fire ring.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Each loop has at least one restroom with flush toilets (no pit toilets). The shower house is fairly centrally located and has plenty of showers. Each shower has an outside door, not a curtain, and inside curtain. Activities and Amenities: lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, kids planned activities, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate. There is a store right across the road from the main gate. There are nature and family activities daily. The swimming areas are small, sandy beaches and are lifeguard protected. A truck comes by once or twice a day selling ice and firewood. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Last comments: Would definitely go there again. Very relaxing and quiet. Only caught sunfish in the lake, but there are other fish there.
