Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? Neat, clean, up to date, great activities, shows, and programs. Great trolly service, never needed the car.
Owners and Staff: Professional and helpful
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Wooded surroundings, clean level gravel, fire ring, rail fence between sites (W2) nice touch. Small trach can at each site. Very quite and well kept.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: We like the W sites on the upper section. We liked being further away from the main activities. Bad sites: Just be careful of the sites off Billy Goat Lane. Some RVs hit their back ends when going down the hill. Check out the groves in the pavement from past victims ouch!
Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, cable, wifi Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, semi-private, large and spacious, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, W2 is sunny and open, but surrounded by woods.
Cell Phone Service: Verizon cell phone. Great reception.
Clean restrooms and showers? . Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: private shower with dressing area.
Activities and Amenities
pool, pond, swimming, fishing, boating, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Pools were great. Nice and clean. Pool by French Mountain Play House is more private. Nice indoor pool also. Loved the paddle boats. Bike trail hooks up with county trail.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Free trolly service around park and the the outlet stores and resturants. Public trollly service to Lake George Village, Glens Falls and Boltons Landing for a small fee $1.00 (cheaper then paying to park down town.
Last comments: We stayed the for nine days and loved every minute. Payed $61 dollars a night and $71 on weekend nights and felt we got our money's worth and more. If you plan on staying there, just make sure you are ready to utilize all the park amenities and programs, shows etc.
