Overall Campground Rating: not good.
What stood out? I spent a good deal of time looking for a campground in the Hershey/Lancaster area. After reviewing the website and making a call to the office, we decided this was the place for us. I was horrified when we drove up. Each campsite had approximately 3 trees between them, there was ZERO privacy, and we couldn't wait to leave. It was so bad, that despite having a 5 night stay reservation here, and not knowing where else to go, we decided to leave anyway. In my opinion, this is strictly a campground for a one-night stay, and not a place to go if you're planning on settling in for a week and touring the area.
Owners and Staff: The office staff was pleasant enough and though she couldn't give me the one-night deposit back, agreed to refund the remaining 4 nights.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Appoximately 4 roads run parallel to each other, with a cross street at the beginning and end of the 4. You can see every single campsite from every vantage point. There are some additional campsites that form a semi-circle, but these are equally non-private. Basically, every campsite is very small and right on top of another.
Overall Site Quality: terrible
Last comments: As noted above, we checked in and then checked back out within 10 mins and before we unpacked anything. Therefore, I can't really comment on the facilities other than to say the place looked relatively rundown. When we explained that we were looking for something a little more "wooded" and semi-private, the woman in the office replied "well, you're not going to find anything like that within 100 miles from here. Some people complain that we have too many trees! All the other campgrounds in this area just have pavement and potted plants". I don't have enough knowledge of the other campgrounds to know if that was true, however, we were able to locate another campground about 30 mins away that we thoroughly enjoyed (and the only potted plants & pavement around was at the camp office)
