Overall Campground Rating: not good.
What stood out? Pricing was different than mentioned in the brochure and web-site. (despite viewing teh site 2.5 hours before arrival). When I asked about the pricing, the site manager was very rude and unprofessional mentioning "they have teh rigt to change prices at any time". The discrepency was not about price but about what was communicated as the off season. The web-site and brochure specifically mentioned certain days as off season. When we arrived, they attempted to charge the higher rate. When asked the manager was very confrontational actualling yelling in front of customers and offered to let us stay at a lower rate but my girls would not be able to take part in the activities. I called the corp office (despite the manager not willing to provide contact information) and they agreed they receive complaints about the on-site manage but the campground is franchised. I would not and will not stay there again. There are several campgrounds in the area that are less expensive with better customer service.
Owners and Staff: Most staff was very nice except the on-site manager. the girls at the registration office were helpful. Most characters did not show up as scheduled. (Despite the on-site manager communicating all activites would take place - which is why they raised the rates)
Camp landscaping and surroundings: The swimming pool hours were different than communicated on the telephone, brochure and web-site. The beach was closed, paddle boats were not available, minni golf was also closed and most Yogi characters were not available for most events.
Overall Site Quality: not good
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, Campsite Descriptions: somewhat small, close to the road, picnic table, fire ring, Very disapointed at the service and activities
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes.
Activities and Amenities
pool, lake, fishing, pool table, playground, Unacceptable behavior of the site manager. raising her voice and acting overbearing is not the behavior I like my children to see in an adult.
What is nearby? amusements, Geauga Lake was great!
