renae gave us this review on 09/04/06. Dates of Stay: August 13-15, 2006. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? other
Overall Campground Rating: horrible.
What stood out? The campground was very dirty. The cabins, rv's, and tents were packed in like sardines. You could almost touch your neighbors cabin/rv/tent from inside your own. The pond was green and slimey causing swarms of mosquitos. We tried to go for a walk around the pond and found a small garbage dump there. We arrived on a Sunday and I didn't notice that the bathrooms had been cleaned until Tuesday a.m. I noticed this because the same garbage and slimey residue in the showers was not cleaned up until this time. I had little hot water in the showers although they claim unlimited hot water. There were bee's nests located near the bathroom door. We requested that they be sprayed as one member of my family was stung, this was accomplished but never checked for remaining bees. We ended up leaving early as the cabins were tiny, dirty, and very stuffy. It was almost impossible to sleep in them. Our belongings came home coated with dust and dirt. We felt cleaner when we tent-camped in another campground! There were neighbors in an rv who were loud and used language that was inappropriate for my children to hear.
Owners and Staff: The only positive was that the staff was friendly and were willing to refund our money when we requested so.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Green slimey pond, pathways are filthy dirty, bathrooms we not cleaned, many mosquitos and bees, garbage dump on one side of the pond
Overall Site Quality: terrible
Good sites: none, they pack as many people in as possible and you are very close to your neighbors in all sites Bad sites: all, campers are packed in like sardines, the worst sites are near the slimey pond as it causes swarms of mosquitos
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, Campsite Descriptions: somewhat small, close to the road, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring; Very small and dirty, little grass is evident, the website pictures are deceiving in this respect. We stayed in a cabin which is small (about half the size of most college dorm rooms) although it does have a tv, ceiling fan, and three beds. Our cabin was dusty and dirty, as well as very hot and stuffy. The ceiling fan did little to ameliorate this.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: cluttered, too many seasonal sites. RVs are placed in close proximity.
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Some sites are rather far from restrooms and showers.
Activities and Amenities
pool, pond, video games, theme weekends; Pool was not used much during our stay. The pond is green and slimey attracting mosquito swarms. There is also a garbage dump on one side of the pond. There is also a mini golf course but it is small and dirty.
What is nearby? restaurants, ocean or lake, amusements; This camp is located about 45 minutes from New Jersey's Ocean City.
Last comments: We would not recommend this site, in spite of friendly people working there. The website is deceiving as is the area by the camp office. These both look very good for campers.
This site could have potential but would require lots of clean-up and the opening up with fewer sites. As I said before, the people who work there are very nice and helpful. They just don't have a good produce to work with. We went there because Jellystone Parks have a good reputation.

“....pathways are filthy dirty:
IT’S CAMPING!
“...many mosquitos and bees”
Uh, yeah, that’s part of camping too.I stayed a Tall Pine “Jellystone” in Elmer at the end of August, I found it to be a very nice camp ground. Clean and neat. The only spots that were messy were a few seasonal sites and some of the CABINS which housed people who thought they were renting a hotel room instead of CAMPING.
Although not one of the nicest camp grounds I’ve been to, I would still recommend it as a decent one.
