Jen gave us this review on 07/26/05. Approx Dates of Stay: July 16-24, 2005.

Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? Good: The sites were huge, they were so big that we actually had two units on one site. Bad: Expensive, too far away from attractions, do not seem to care about transient campers. We had to pay a $20 deposit on a gate key and the gate in the area of the campground we were in was NEVER closed. A big waste of money. The campground was very large and the area we were in was not even part of the main campground. We had to travel at least 3 miles on main roads on the outside of the campground and then through a shared driveway with private homes to get to the part of the campground we were staying in. There was no security in the area of te campground we were in. Anyone could drive in and out as they pleased. One night I happend to be up late, and heard vehicles passing our camper every few minutes.

Owners and Staff: The staff was not helpful. They did not tell us about activities and things going on. They were very rude to my niece when she went to get a refund for money she put in the washing machine when it did not work.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The area we were in boardered the woods. Surrounding the campground there was a cattle farm and a chicken farm. If we left one way we got to smell cows, going the other way we got to smell chickens.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, large and spacious, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Very few transient sites. Most sites were seasonal.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: too many seasonal sites. Most of the seasonal campers looked like they were there forever. The campers were so dirty they would never come clean. The grass was grwon up around many of the sites. There were also some seasonal sites that were very nice and well cared for, but that was just a handful. While we were there we saw only a few seasonal campers there.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Broken toilet seat, and shower curtains to close off stalls. They really needed work.

Activities and Amenities

pool, recreation hall, playground, camp store, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, I don't even know where to start....I was not impressed with their activities...The pool was nice, but there was no bathhouse anywhere near the pool. There was also a sign on the outside gate of the pool fence that the pool closed at 5 on weekdays and 6 on weekends. We did not find out (only by chance I might add) until mid-week that the pool was open again from 7-10 every night. We asked where the hours were posted and we were told "They are not posted anywhere." We almost felt as if they did not want transient campers to know. The rec hall was a dirt floor hall, again, not impressive.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, The campground claims to be in Rehoboth Beach, but the beach and everything is so far away that it was not worth staying at this campground. It was at least a 20 minute drive to any activities. There are great outlet malls in the area, but EVERYTHING else was super expensive.

Last comments: I would never go back. I was not impressed with the campground or the staff attitude. Not to mention that we went to Delaware for the beaches, and this campground was so far out of the way that we spent a small fortune on gas for the week.
