Approx Dates of Stay: 07/12/02 to 07/14/02. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? Good - recreational, spaciousness, restrooms facilities. Bad - lack of security and the way they handled our complaint when we left. Owners and Staff: No on site security. You were given a pamphlet and a few sheets of paper upon arrival at the campground. The pamphlets reinforces the quiet hours (10: 00 P.M. to 8:00 A.M.) but doesn't let you know what to do when you have noisy neighbors. The security information only lists policy, fire, and sheriff dept. #'s along with night security. Supposedly (as told to us by another campgrounder, they patrol the areas every 1/2 hour.) At 11:30 we were fed up with the three neighbors next to us who were obviously drunk and had rude children with them. We asked them to quiet it down as it was way past quiet hours but made a joke about it until they finally drunk themselves to sleep at 12:30. We didn't notice any security go by us that whole hour. We complained the next morning to the front office who wanted us out of the office because we were not making any good comments. I've since then written to the manager of the campground with no response back yet . Camp landscaping and surroundings: Very wooded.
Overall Site Quality: excellent. Good/Bad site #'s: Don't stay in the Jump Fields (Noisy Fields) Very open and sunny. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, somewhat small, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating?
no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional
comments on restrooms and showers: Only two buildings that service the whole
campground. They do have toilets spread around the campground but you'd have a walk
to the showers.
Activities and Amenities: pool, boat rentals, playground, camp store, pets
allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. What is nearby? ocean
or lake, nature trails. Last comments: New pool area but bring your chairs
and towels. We might return but make sure that you're not there on the race weekends.
