cheryl ann gave us this review on 07/13/08. Dates of Stay: 07/11 - 07/13/2008. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer
Overall Campground Rating: very good.
What stood out? QUIET!
Owners and Staff: Very friendly.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Nicely landscaped
Overall Site Quality: very good
Good sites: An awesome campground for tenters. For groups - 12 to 15 They are now W & E. #19 to 27, 31 - 34, 36, 37. Possibly #42Ato 42# if in a group but you might hear more traffic. Bad sites: Not too much privacy for most of the sites that are at the front part. Tent sites might be buggy as they are out in the woods. #1 to 11 you'll hear highway traffic.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, somewhat small, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: Didn't go to that area.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: They do look like fixed up outhouses. Each facility has two showers/two toilets that are seperated by paper thin walls. They really need to add more facilitiies as this CG, to me, gears to tenters. No soap or paper towels for the sinks which are along the side of the building.
Activities and Amenities
pool, pond, swimming, playground, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate. Heated pool. Up to date small playground.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, Not near the congestion of the beach areas but close enough.
Last comments: We were in site 15 and upon arrival noticed how close these four sites were. We were thankful that our neighbors were very quiet. We slept late on Sunday and they were quiet taking down their camper. Quiet hrs at 10 PM to 8 AM and it was QUIET! We'd definately return here. We'd try for different sites with a little more privacy. Wood is very expensive here ($6.50/bundle).

We like Dixon’s Campground too. We usually stay in front on the sunny grass sites. We don’t mind the open feel here, because the sites are so large.
