Carol gave us this review on 08/28/08. Dates of Stay: 7/2006, 8/2007, 8/2008. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Motor Home - Size of Camping Unit: 36'

Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? We have stayed at this campground over the years and find it very clean and well kept. The bathhouses are about the cleanist you can find. The sites are wooded and always cleaned whena camper leaves and before another arrives. We have never found anything to complain about!!

Owners and Staff: Jon and Sue are always most gracios and friendly. They are willing to help in anyway they can. The staff is very friendly and their ages seem to be from young to middleage which is always nice since they know how to interact with all campers. They obviously have been welll trained by the owners since they also are very courteous, understanding and helpful.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: This campgrpund is wooded and has a very nice beach, which gets raked every morning, which is very safe for younsters. The roads are well kept and teh grass is always cut.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: All of the sites are nice but we like the sites on the beach loop the best. Bad sites: There are no bad sites

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, wifi Hookups are all modern and up to date. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, private, large and spacious, picnic table, fire ring, The sites are well kept and vary in size but will accept all rigs. The oqners have done a good job of matching rigs to sites.

Cell Phone Service: We have Verizon and had full bars. Does not seem to be a prblem.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, Seasonal sites are well kept and do not have clutter. The trailers are clean and the people are friendly.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Restrooms are always clean and are cleaned several times each day.

  1. Very nice place…
    Love it there….But…...
They are fee and rule happy. There is no disputing this.
Unless Ruthann is in the office, service with a smile is a 50/50 chance at best.
And with her and Jerry leaving, great assets are being lost.  I am a regular customer here, and even my simple questions on the phone are often met with sarcasm and rudeness.
Jon, I’m sorry…these are simple truths.
I think the enforcement of your rules make the place as great as it is…never a noise problem, never any messes lying around. It’s just, well…“law cannot foresee every possible circumstance”.
And it seems if something “sticks in Sue’s craw” she has to needle needle needle. I would ask, does it have to be this way?
Do you think a small infraction could be met with a wrinkled smile and a “hey, you know better than that”, rather than a scorn and cold shoulder.
A wise man once said, “you catch more flies with a teaspoon of honey, than a gallon of vinager.“
Anyway, I would wrap up with this…if you are considering camping here, as a family, with young children, you simply will not be dis-appointed.
You will have no noise issues, no drunks, and quiet at the proper time. Give them a shot, and you will return. Just pay attentiont to what they say, and don’t take the rules lightly.

  2. i would have to believe that ripley has not acually talked to ruthanne on a transient basis as she is not as pleasent as implied maybe ripley has a personal stake in this particular employee of this particular campground hmmm, i also happen to enjoy clearwater very much but i dont have problems with rules,i would recomend clearwater to anyone who truly loves camping and the out of doors!!!!!

  3. This is a warning. I don’t want this to escalate into an ongoing debate, which always seems to happen when this campground is reviewed. Be nice.
