Approx Dates of Stay: 10/8/04 - 10/11/04. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? Friendly staff, beautiful setting, and convenient to other attractions. Owners and Staff: In my mind, the staff showed more willingness to help and enthusiasm than any campground we've ever been to. Pricilla met us at check in with a big smile and remembered us all weekend! She and Holly made the store friendly and a wealth of information. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Picturesque sites on the water, gorgeous footbridge leads to hiking trails. Plenty of space between campsites.
Overall Site Quality: excellent. Campsite Descriptions: The sites are somewhat varied, but they automatically called Clint, who escorted us to our site and helped us place our trailer just right. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers,
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: The stalls look like they've been recently improved. Notice on door letting campers know what time they will be cleaned. They were indeed cleaned at that time each day.
Activities and Amenities: pond, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. They were celebrating Halloween weekend. The kids had a BALL. The haunted hayride was totally awesome! Kudos to Janet, who's infectious enthusiasm really inspired the children. Noticed also that the site decorating contest had full participation, among weekend campers, as well as the seasonals. Even families renting units for the weekend got in the spirit. What is nearby? restaurants, retail stores, nature trails. Great Sunday Brunch at Whittier House on Rte 16. Last comments: Don't miss the pancake breakfast at the rec hall. Lee makes the fluffiest pancakes around!
