Laurie (Van Wagner) Shea gave us this review on 08/15/07. Dates of Stay: 8-4-07 through 8-12-07. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 24'
Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? No matter what site you are on, all that surrounds you is beauty. Glimpses of the lake or the mountains through the foliage surround you.
Owners and Staff: Awesome people with a great sense of humor.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: The sites are very carefully laid out to give the feeling of privacy, while still being able to visit with neighboring sites.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: Not sure of the # but my favorite site in the whole park is behind the rec hall...right next to the beach. I have spent 3 years on site #110 and that would be my second choice. Bad sites: Bad Sites?
Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, wifi Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, somewhat small, sandy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. Since I usually tent camp, and have the privelidge of my parents camper only one week a year, I always look for sites that would accomodate my 2 tents, screen house and 2 dining flys. There are several spacious level sites with good drainage available for tenting.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, Everyone I have met up there has been friendly.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Always clean. Coin metered showers are reasonable, and HOT.
Activities and Amenities
pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, video games, pool table, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. The pool was new last year '06, and although I have yet to swim in it, I believe everyone else in the campground loved it.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. All of the White Mountains...Caves...Hiking Trails...Pizza Bar....Weirs Beach...Lake Winnepesauke....Castle in the Clouds...The beautiful State of NH (also Maine is nearby)
Last comments: My personal definition of Heaven includes Chocorua.

We have booked here for columbus day weekend. It will be our first time.
Posted by KIM on 08/18/07Well we did columbus day weekend and I was very dissappointed. Sites are very close and small. The swim area(which we would not be able to use this time of year ) looked very mucky and not a place I would swim in. My kids just saie EWEEEE! Staff was very friendly and they had actrivities for the kids but that is something we don’t ever use so I would not return here.
