Nancy gave us this review on 07/19/07. Dates of Stay: July 13th ~22 2007. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 23 ft
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? not much for kids to do during the week {we were there for 9 days} can't ride bikes after dark. can only skateboard in the park between the hours of 2pm & 4pm? pool is only 5ft deep in the deepest end. No fireworks not even sparklers. No family dances just "clogging lessons"?? OH BOY!lol
Owners and Staff: not sure I ever met the owners but the staff were very friendly at all times.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: clean/pretty
Overall Site Quality: fair-average
Good sites: All the ones along the lake looked nice Bad sites: #112 :{
Campsite hookups: electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, somewhat small, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, sites are close together. #112 is so small and that was what I got stuck with of 9 days! My friends were on a site that backed up to the toddlers playground 109? UGH!
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers,
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers:
Activities and Amenities
pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, pool table, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. rec hall was nice but kids said the juke box was loaded with old songs and video games were REALLY out dated. Most of them were out of order. Well stocked camp store. brand new pool could use some more chairs so bring your own.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. you have to drive to North Conway to go to these places which is about a 30 minute drive. Going to the Lower Falls was a BLAST!! It is on the Kangamangus highway and so so much fun! Wear water shoes as the rocks were slippery!
Last comments: they just need to offer more for the kids to do here during the week. we had a total of 7 kids ages 6~18 and they were bored. It is always a plus when the kids are off playing so Mommys & Daddys can have some "alone time"

First off, no campground in the area is going to allow fireworks or sparklers. It is a state law, not a specific campground law. And to allow kids to ride bikes after dark? That is also something that most campgrounds will enforce.
You are lucky they allowed skateboarding at all. I don’t think I have ever been to a campground that allows skateboards. With vehicles on the road, it is an accident waiting to happen!
Posted by That's Camping in the Northeast on 07/24/07Wow!...I agree with posted comment, we were there partially the same week, it rained some, but we enjoyed every minute as a family in a wonderful family campground… sounds like you had fussy kids…may want to give up camping and try hotels!Our kids ages 14, 11 and 10 never complained once, video games are not part of our camping vacation, we find things to do together! CCV was great and we can’t wait to go back… to hear the the call of Moose in the distance on our last night was the best!
Posted by Allison on 08/01/07It is really sad your kids were bored. That should tell you something. My kids wanted to stay longer. They had so much fun. All of them four to 14 years old. They loved the pool and the pond, the boat we rented, fishing and exploring the trails. Maybe you should consider if camping is right for you if you complain about video games. We don’t allow our kids to play them camping. Why would they want to anyway? We thought this was the best campground we went to so far. I think I was there the weekend of July1`14. It was a pirate themed weekend and it was wonderful.
