Sheri and Chuck gave us this review on 05/05/08. Dates of Stay: July-Aug 2007-2006. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Tent - Size of Camping Unit: n/a
Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? We stay on the East shore sites, its just beautiful. You are surrounded by beautiful mountain views! A truely peaceful place to get away from it all.
Owners and Staff: The owners are just great, always so friendly ( including their children!)
Camp landscaping and surroundings: The East Shore sites are wilderness sites. Nature at its best. It is a great place to go if you enjoy the sounds of nature, trees, and even a few bugs.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good sites: We have visited here so often and have stayed at many sites. The lower numbers have better swimming and are closer together..the higher numbers are higher up from the lake and the walk to the water can be tricky, really need to keep your eyes opened. Bad sites: There are no bad sites!
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, primitive sites have outhouses, no showers, no electricity so leave your blow dryer home! Unless of course you head to the main campground where you can shower Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, if you dont want neighbors it is wise to get two sites that join.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, The owners keep the primitive sites very clean, campers we have met have all been very friendly.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? . showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: primitive sites are outhouses, a short walk from your camping site. Very clean
Activities and Amenities
lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, camp store, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. the store offers basic nessesities..if you need to shop for food etc, the closet place is in Rangely, about 1/2 hour away..not to bad
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. Oquossoc has a few resturants and a general store. Up the road a piece is Rangely which has a quant downtown area with shops more resturants and an IGA food store.
