Leslie odierno gave us this review on 07/28/08. Dates of Stay: July 21-22,2008. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? 5th Wheel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 31 foot
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? up big hill to get there off main roads NO CABLE TV NO TVat all unless you had satellite I'm guessing cause we didnot have one. We struggled and got 1 station at night very snowy. there was one very clear station that spoke chinese.HaHA truth. The floor on the laundry room was dirty and needed sweeping and cleaning. NO WIFI
Owners and Staff: the people were somewhat indifferent. we were here before because my family lives near here and had a small dirty site. we struggled to pick a site that was a little bigger 30 amp service and we kept tripping the fuse until we turned uor water to gas. pool wasn nice but the staff was all leaning on the office rail and could hear them saying look they are coming you have to unlock the pool. they di without charging me for my visiting grandaughters. the other campground we tried last year charged $5 per person for visitors plus $6 per car. I find that up north this is amuch more common practice than in the south.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: the campground had a big hill at the entrance big camp store and the pull through sites were flat on the campmer end but went up hill steeply for the truck end. wide enough mostly but not real spacious. the 50 amp were back in. tent sites were grassy other sites all gravel and woodsy needed new gravel. It was out in the country not much to do there except rest
Overall Site Quality: fair-average
Good sites: tent sites in grass Bad sites: 19
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer
Cell Phone Service: I have AT&S worked fine T Mobile grandaughters worked and other grandaughter had alltel worked there 2 I have a SPrint AIr card and was able touse internet with it when I used my 32 inch trucker antenna on the top of our ladder.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: not many. camp workers had a site and had 2 small children with very noisey polastic bigwheels.
Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: restrooms not dirty but old laundry machines old lint filters were bad needed to be cleaned and floor dirty
Activities and Amenities
pool, swimming, pets allowed, mostly shady cool at night.
What is nearby? nothing but my family
Last comments: I think people comeup her to get out of the city or are passing rthrough one couple went somewhere to goet a train to see the yankees play.
