Abel Mountain Campground • July 05, 2004

The owners of Abel Mountain Campground recently contacted us concerning this review. Here are their comments regarding new improvements to the campground:

It unfortunate that this camper had a bad experience; however I feel I need to clarify the circumstances somewhat. This was the last site available on a busy holiday weekend. The specific site has since been widened in the renumbering and overall site changes that were made.

Since we took ownership of the campground, we have focused on projects that needed to be done to improve the campground as a whole. We realize that we cannot...

Lake Champlain Islands area in Vermont

Dave A wrote on 7/25/99:

Stayed at Carry Bay campground because I decided I wanted electric and water on site. The sites there are very small. By the time your camper is set up and your is awning out, you have about reached the edge of your site. They don't have too many sites though so we had no real problems. The owners are really nice people and live during the summer in their Class A motor home next to the camp office, which is a converted airstream trailer. The swimming pool is very good but small. What stood out? The campground was very clean. It did seem to have mostly seasonal campers and many of the sites were empty. The amount of bugs were outragious! It didn't matter what time of day it was they were there. The deer/horse flies in the mid afternoon and misquitos morning and night. Almost made it impossible to stay outside. What stood out? The seasonal's were extremely unfriendly. The campground, which we stayed in last year, was showing signs of neglect.
