Campsites were a good size, bath houses were clean, and the lake is beautiful. Owners and Staff: Very personable. Often offered to deliver the firewood directly to our site. Approx Dates of Stay: September, 2003. Overall Campground Rating: horrible. What stood out? Campsite rules not disclosed on website. Although advertised as dog friendly, unless you are prepared to not leave your campsite (to venture into town or take advantage of fishing, canoeing or hiking without the dogs) this is not the campground to visit. We went to town for 3 hours to do antiquing. We travel with two 5 year old labs who are very well behaved. Returned to our campsite to find a nasty...

Approx Dates of Stay: Aug.2004. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? Very clean, freindly staff and fellow campers. I liked the free shuttle that went into town that dropped and picked up passengers at the IGA. Great not only for picking up groceries but to go into town to eat dinner out without looking for a place to park when the streets are so busy on summer evenings. With a restaurant, bar, two pools, large playground, and activities, this is not primitive camping. Wonderful for kids, have them bring their...

What stood out? Excellent location to Lake George, close enough, yet away from the traffic. Large sites, very friendly staff, lots of activities. Too many seperate charges for different activities. For example, they charged for a train ride, for frog buckets, for tube rides. Got a little expensive when everyone wants to do all the activites. Also, Bingo gave out Campground dollars instead of cash prizes, thus forcing you to spend the winnings at...
