Scott & Rosemary Rowles gave us this review on 09/03/08. Dates of Stay: 08/2008. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Tent

Overall Campground Rating: not good.

What stood out? The owners appeared to be the only staff for a solid booked Labor Day weekend. They did not keep the facilities clean. The bathrooms and showers were not kept clean. The toilet paper and paper towels were out in all bathrooms for two days. They did not provide soap for handwashing in the bathrooms and did not pick up trash during our entire stay. Owners shuttled boaters/tubers to vehicles up and down the river and closed the office and camp store for hours each day for this.

Owners and Staff: Husband and wife only - no staff - confrontational, demanding, rude.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Wooded with all pine trees which were dead half way up the trees. Pine needles fell from the trees all weekend long. Would have needed a tarp over our cooking area to keep needles out of our food.

Overall Site Quality: not good

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, Not enough electricity to power things in campers Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise; The picnic tables for the tent sites were old and rotted. The picnic tables on the cabin and camper sites were new.

Cell Phone Service: no cell service at campground. Had to go outside of campground to get service.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: friendly campers,

Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Showers were extremely small with no hooks to hang a towel or a bench to set clean clothes on. Had to put clean clothes on dirty floor of shower stall.

Activities and Amenities

river, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, pets allowed, dumping station; Playground consisted of two horseshoe pits and a volleyball net. No swingset or childrens playground.

What is nearby? grocery stores, nature trails. ATV accessible

Last comments: The only nice thing about this campground is it's deceiving website and pretty sign that sits at the end of the campground road. (Campground not visible from main road)
