Martine gave us this review on 08/03/06. Dates of Stay: 08/2004, 07/2005, 08/2005. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Tent

Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? I can only review the tent part of this campground, so for RVs, I don't know if the campground is good or bad but for the tent sites, we like it a lot. We always choose a site that is in the woods, not near the RV park. The sites are big enough for a big tent, screen house, picnic table and there is still a lot of space. There are trees and bushes that separate the sites so, even if you can see your neighboors a bit, you still get intimacy. It is very calm too.

Owners and Staff: We like the campground owners a lot. Yes, they are very strict on enforcing the rules (which are mostly there to protect the environment) but the rules are easy to follow and not a bother to us at all (for example, you can't take branches from the trees, nor install a clothes line over the bushes). The owners are very friendly, they even tried to speak french to my friend who doesn't speak english at all and they are willing to help you anytime. We feel welcomed there.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: When you enter the campground, there is the office and the RV park. Further away are the tent sites, which are very woody. There are a lot of cute decorations everywhere that have to do with nature (garden gnomes, animal figures, etc...) Every tent site has a picnic table and a fire ring.

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: 78,79,80,91

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: What needs updating in the restrooms I think is that the stalls for the bathrooms don't lock. The bathrooms and showers are relatively clean. When I was there last year, I saw the owner clean the bathroom every day.

Activities and Amenities

recreation hall, tv or movies, playground, camp store, laundry room, dumping station, Buy firewood at the campground instead of at the grocery/convenience store as it is of a better quality at the campground and you get more for the same price.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. We like the beaches in this area a lot...We prefer Ogunquit or York beaches over Wells's because the waves are bigger in York. There is a friendly atmosphere everywhere in the area and there is a lot of things to do and see.
