Lisa gave us this review on 07/25/06. Dates of Stay: July 2006. Will You Return? Undecided. What did you camp in? Tent - Size of Camping Unit: Large Tent and Screen Tent
Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.
What stood out? Good: We had the best site on the grounds - site 92. If you are staying here, DEFINATELY get this site! Site 91 isn't too bad...but smaller. Site 92 had just enough room for a tent, screenhouse and chairs. It was decent sized, close to the bathrooms, and far enough from your neighbors for some privacy.
Bad: 1) Bathrooms - $5 deposit for a bathroom key. The bathroom has 2 stalls and 1 shower. Each stall has NO lock, and it doesn't look like the bathrooms are cleaner/maintained at all. There is a sink outside the bathroom thats also filthy - but usable. Bathroom is FILLED with insects...
Bad: 2) Campsites were TINY and mixed in with mobil homes. When you first drive through, you see TONS of RVs and mobile homes lining the perimeter...with tent sites in the middle. I would definately not like to stay there! Once you go further down, you get a bit more private, but not much. Also, it rained for one day, and most sites were flooded...again, if you are going to stay here, stay at site 92.
Owners and Staff: Owners are...interesting! Its family run, which is great! Mother and daughter run the office and father and son run the grounds. Mike (the father) was very helpful and friendly...but sometimes a bit TOO friendly! We were 3 girls, and he came by to chat multiple times a night. Although he was cool, it got to be a bit annoying. The "mother" was VERY strict. Upon check-in, she basically YELLS the rules to you and threatens to kick you out if you don't obey them. I've never met a more stern (rude) campground owner. However, the only time you see her is when you check in, and get your $5 deposit back for the key. They have the longest list of rules...if you are under 40 years old, or an EXTREAMLY quiet couple...find someplace else.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Nothing special. The enterance is a trailer park...very unappealing. Once you go further down it gets a bit more "rustic" but not much. I was expecting MUCH more!
Overall Site Quality: fair-average
Good sites: 91 and 92 Bad sites: EVERYTHING ELSE!
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, somewhat small, close to the road, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: snobby seasonal campers, too many seasonal sites. Welcome to the trailer park...in all aspects
Clean restrooms and showers? no. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Showers are free...if you are brave enough!
Activities and Amenities
recreation hall, camp store; Campstore is a joke...they sell 2 candybars
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Good part of Maine

I agree with this review. Stayed here in summer of ‘05. The sites are extremely small. We couldn’t even open our awning all the way, and the sewer side of our camper was only about 8” from a tree.
A lot of older seasonal trailers.
Had trouble with our black water tank so we had to use the camp bathrooms. They were small, antiquated and locked. Had to jiggle the keys in the locks to get them to work, not something you want to do in the middle of the night while fighting off mosquitos.
Didn’t have much contact with the owners.
We will not return.
