Larry gave us this review on 09/23/09. Dates of Stay: Aug 17-21, 2009. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 16
What stood out? Large sites, 2 bath houses, lots of trees, quiet, rock/gravel road.
Owners and Staff: What little time we interacted with the staff was good. We did have a problem booking and getting the correct rates took multiple emails and calls. But once we got by that, they were great.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: All caper/rv sites are somewhat private from the next site. They are not one on top of another and are seperated by trees or bushes.
Good sites: All looked good, even the tent sites Bad sites: none that I could see.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, wifi Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. Our site (#68) was not picked up before we got there. We picked up trash, cig. butts, bottle caps, etc. the whole time we were there. Plus the site needed the lawn cut as the grass was rather tall.
Cell Phone Service: Verizon Wireless worked great for me and my friend.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, Friendly and clean.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Very clean restrooms and showers. Hot water all the time.
recreation hall, video games, playground, camp store, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station. We weren't there during peak season, so aren't sure about planned activities and such. Within 10 minutes are lakes, ponds, salt water beaches, bike trails, you name it.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. Within 10 minutes or 5 to 6 miles is just about everything you can think of. travel a little farther and you get more. We made it a kayaking weekend and there are lots of places to paddle nearby plus the Cape Cod Rail Trail at Nickerson State Park is 5 minutes away.
Last comments: It may be noisier during the peak season as it was VERY quiet during our stay. But we enjoyed ourselves there and it's convenient to many places on the Cape. Even Provincetown is just 40 min away where there are whale watches and lots more! A good place to camp and we'll probably return again. We're already talking about going back again next year to do more kayaking!
