Dawn gave us this review on 08/01/05. Approx Dates of Stay: 7/29/05 - 7/31/05.

Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? The campground owners are definitely hands-on people who work hard to keep their facility running smoothly. Our site was on the main road and noisy. Rules are printed but not followed at all! Sometimes to your benefit, sometimes not.

Owners and Staff: The owners and staff were friendly and available throughout each day. Very visible and working hard.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The front field is beautiful and offers a space for kids to run and play freely. But it also is a place where there are remote controlled cars being used often and it is a big kids hangout during the evening. Pond is cute but hidden in the middle of people's sites so not really available to all.

Overall Site Quality: fair-average

Good/Bad sites: We were on the main road and it was loud most of the time. Site 10 was given for a tent but it was rocky, not level and up a small hill. Difficult if you don't have an air mattress! The site in the back were much more quiet and lots of trees. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, somewhat small, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. There are mostly seasonal sites. Only about 25 open for rental. Way too many golf carts used. Everyone is driving a golf cart and kids need to be careful. Also some carts are noisy and lights are shining everywhere at night.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: friendly campers, too many seasonal sites.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: An older couple took care of the rest rooms and worked diligently throughout the day. They wet mopped but the floors immediately got muddy shoes. Showers got the whole bathroom wet and they need updated. Some had no hooks to hang clothes or towels. Only two showers in the bathroom near us.

Activities and Amenities

pool, pond, swimming, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, snack bar, pets allowed, security gate. Store was great. Very low prices for kids to buy candy or ice pops. Snack bar opened for short intervals, but good food and selection. Playgrounds need work. Very old equipment, possibly self made. Bocci available but monopolized by a group of seasonal the entire day on Sat and some time again Sun. Pets are welcome and the rules say they stay on site, but everyone was walking a dog! I'm glad our stayed home, because she would have been wild with all the dogs passing by! Kids activities were good. Pools were beautiful and clean!!!

Last comments: Nice campground, I may go back. Too many rules which are not needed since their not followed. Too many golf carts, no real quiet hours.

  1. Site 10 is a RV site not a tent site which she requested.  We know the playgrounds were old.  We put brand new equipment in for 2007 season.  We are working hard to improve a 25 year old park.We bought 3 years ago.  We are a pet friendly park.  You can walk your dog as long as you clean up after it.  They are not allowed in fields playgrounds or in buildings.  We have 160 acres to walk them.  The bathrooms they stayed near had 4 showers 6 toilets total 14 showers 30 toilets in whole park.  Thats is one of three buildings of bathrooms one bathroom is even bigger.  WE have 200 sites and only 130 seasonals. Wet muddy shoes in a campground? Bathrooms all sheetrock and drop ceilings and new floors.  update?  Kids hanging out in the field playing?  The pond is not in the middle of sites. please review our map. Rules on maps simple common sense that are inforced quiet hours 11:00pm to 8:00 am (weekends)
