Approx Dates of Stay: May 2003. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. What stood out? Clean, huge sites. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Owners and Staff: Again, the best. Very friendly. Hold breakfasts and dinners that help the weekenders and seasonals get along well. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Very hilly, but nice. No highway noises of any kind.
Overall Site Quality: excellent. Good/Bad site #'s: Huge. Love Site #131. Very clean. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, large and spacious, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring. Just very clean, grassy sites. This helps with the level of dirt that gets tracked into my pop-up. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: They have lots of restrooms and showers and they're very clean and neat.
Activities and Amenities: pond, river, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, playground, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. What I love about this campground is that they let you walk your pets everywhere. This is actually good because then the owner is in control of the pet on the leash and everyone who passes by can ask the owner if they pet the animal or not. Everyone loved my dog (Shih Tzu) and he loves camping and watching people go by. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, nature trails. There are nice restaurants nearby - we went to a great pizza place, though I can't remember the name - "Green--?" There is a Super Wal-mart, Kohl's, etc. nearby. Last comments: Friendly, friendly, friendly - that's how you describe the staff. They also had lots of activities - we happened to go on "Easter Weekend" in May and the staff included all ages in this, even my 10 and 14-year old. Their meals are delicious. Their seasonals are friendly and outgoing with the weekenders. This has grown to be one of our favorite campgrounds in the last 2 or 3 years.
