Approx Dates of Stay: 7-10 days on many trips. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? It is on a beautiful location on Northwestern Lake George. Nice beach, good campsites. Owners and Staff: State run facility, staff is very friendly and helpful. Camp landscaping and surroundings: They keep the campsites well maintained as they do the beach, showers and bathrooms. Beautiful boat launch, even for larger boats, no docking but nice moorings. The only reason I do not give this campground an excellent rating is that there is no playground for young children. Otherwise it is truly an awesome place and I return year after year.
Overall Site Quality: very good. Good/Bad site #'s: good sites, 66, 68, 70, 72 and 54. Campsite hookups: primitive tent. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating?
yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes.
Activities and Amenities: swimming, fishing, boating, docks or moorings, dumping
station. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, nature trails. Ticonderoga
is near by, has Super WalMart and a few restaurants. Last comments: Truly a wonderful
place to camp and boat. If you want the tourist thing and the cheesy stores, stay in the
village of Lake George.
