Web site: Rogers Rock Public Campground

  • Adirondacks/Lake George area: Rt. 9 N, 3 miles north of Hague. (the north/west shore of the Lake)
  • 321 sites: $14 Tent / Trailer site ($10 off peak). Reservations can be made online. The website lists the camp map, where you can choose an area, and it shows what sites are available for the dates you choose. It is great to find out what is available and to pick your site online.

Approx Dates of Stay: 7-10 days on many trips. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? It is on a beautiful location on Northwestern Lake George. Nice beach, good campsites. Owners and Staff: State run facility, staff is very friendly and helpful. Camp landscaping and surroundings: They keep the campsites well maintained as they do the beach, showers and bathrooms. Beautiful boat launch, even for larger boats, no docking but nice moorings. The only reason I do not give this campground an excellent rating is that there is no playground for young children. Otherwise it is truly an awesome place and I return year after year.

Overall Site Quality: very good. Good/Bad site #'s: good sites, 66, 68, 70, 72 and 54. Campsite hookups: primitive tent. Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes.

Activities and Amenities: swimming, fishing, boating, docks or moorings, dumping station. What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, nature trails. Ticonderoga is near by, has Super WalMart and a few restaurants. Last comments: Truly a wonderful place to camp and boat. If you want the tourist thing and the cheesy stores, stay in the village of Lake George.
