Pat B gave us this review on 11/06/08. Dates of Stay: 1 weekend stay turned into a Seasonal site. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? other

Overall Campground Rating: excellent.

What stood out? My wife and I visited the campground on July 4th in our RV several years ago. We found the staff, the campers and the campground so enjoyable that by the end of the long weekend we had submitted a request to become seasonal campers.

Owners and Staff: Campground is truly family run. Several family members live on site all year long. This makes problem reporting and problem resolution a breeze.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: A unique campground in that it has a beach area, several lake-view campsites, then another section is more wooded, and finally there is an open field area

Overall Site Quality: excellent

Good sites: Depends what you are looking for. Sites range from water-view, to wooded, to open. Bad sites:

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, wifi Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, picnic table, fire ring,

Cell Phone Service: I have no problems with cell service and am able to fully use my data options on my phone. The campground also has free wireless that reaches all sites

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers, I started as a drop in camper. I had a hook up issue and without asking for help a seasonal saw I was having problems and volunteered to help.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: There are three restrooms located throughout the campground. One at the Rec hall, one in the field and one at the boathouse. There are two shower locations. The vast majority of sites have both clean water and sewer hookups so most campers use there own facilities. But seasonals who have small "restrooms and showers" are known to use the campground facilities as they are clean and well kept.

Activities and Amenities

lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. This campground is located right on the shore of a wonderfully clean lake. Boating and fishing are major attractions. The campground itself has many many activities from kids crafts to parades to "celebrating" each Holiday during the camping season. Santa visits for Christmas in July and there is a haunted hay ride each Halloween in August, etc , etc. Several live bands perform at various times each year. There are multiple fishing tournaments each year. Each weekend has some-type of planned activity for both young and old.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, amusements, nature trails. Also nearby is a NASCAR racetrack and two casinos.

Last comments: Recommend you visit.

  1. You have got to be kidding either that or a good friend of the owners.I totaly agree with the other reviews I would never consider going back. The owners are the most rude people I have ever met.The kids crafts last all of five minutes and if its to hot not at all. They are just hanging onto a peice of premo realestate and you seasonals are footing the bills for all there toys.Because not a dime goes into the campground.Either that or you have never camped anyplace else in that case please do life is to short to spend in a dirt and dust bowl
