Approx Dates of Stay: August 2004. Overall Campground Rating: very good. What stood out? Been going there for years. Lake is pristine. Small campground, never crowded even when all sites are in use. restrooms are a bit rustic except for the bathhouse which is more modern. Owners and Staff: Very pleasant and accommodating. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Mostly private sites except the pull thru sites nearest the waterfront. Natural woods all around.

Overall Site Quality: very good. Good/Bad site #'s: 27 gets a bit muddy. 12 is large and level. 50 is huge and level, but very open without much privacy. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, picnic table, fire ring, a large variety of site sizes, shade vs. open, rv suitable vs. tent only suitable. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: no seasonal campers

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? . free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: shower/bathhouse is modern and clean, the other rest rooms are older, and less clean.

Activities and Amenities: lake, fishing, boating, boat rentals, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate. they did away with lifeguards at the beach and no one was supposed to swim, but people did still swim. the canoe and rowboat rental were moved from another location to the swimming beach area. this interferes with children swimming. Also, motor boats are allowed on the lake so ski-dos and personal watercraft dock at the beach as well as at the boat launch. this seriously interferes with swimming if they are active. water is crystal clear and refreshing. current is sometimes too strong for amatuer canoeists or rowers, but at other times is quite suitable. What is nearby? 15 minutes to Schroon Lake 30 minutes to Ticonderoga. Last comments: We have gone almost every year for the last 18 years. We find it calm, generally quiet, and love the water. just frustrated by the boat use at the beach area.
