Tracy gave us this review on 08/01/06. Dates of Stay: 07/2006. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Tent

Overall Campground Rating: not good.

What stood out? The sites were extremely small, the restrooms were very far away from all the the plain/tent sites, and the majority of the sites were seasonal-leaving few options for the weekend campers.

Owners and Staff: We were treated very poorly by employees that came around to do night checks. At around 10pm they came around and told us that we had too many people on our site. We explained that we had 4 sites and we were just playing cards around our 1 fire. He told us that we could only whisper after 11pm because he had complaints the night before. We explained that it was not us because it was raining and we went to bed around 11:15. We made sure that we were extremely quite after 11pm and he just kept circling around our camp site. We felt like we were targeted because we were 4 couples in our late 20's without any children with us. We were planning to leave the next morning, but the other 3 couples were planning to stay 1 remaining day. The next morining we all left! My friends thought it would be more fun to go home then to stay the last night they already paid for. I have been camping my entire life and understand the rules of quite hours. I feel that they should change their quite hours if they really want sites speaking in a whisper before 11pm. This could have avoided some of the miscommunication.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: There was a beautiful small pond/lake in the center of the campground the was very pretty. It was within walking distance to the ocean beach where we spent the majority of our time.

Overall Site Quality: terrible

Good sites: all sites with lake front (green on the map)---these are hookup not plain sites P-15 may be the best tent site. Bad sites: P-6 is only large enough for a car and table, P-13 is ok but looks a lot larger on the map.

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, unsure if they had sewer/cable/wifi---we had a tent site Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, somewhat small, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, Site were right on top of each other. We had 4 tent sites and one site we

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, too many seasonal site for my liking

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Restrooms were accessible from all areas, but it was a long walk from the tent sites. I did not enjoy the long walk at night and I am sure if I had children I would have hated it even more.

  1. I don’t think some campers realize that even whispers sound like shouting after a certain hour of night.

We appreciate campgrounds that uphold quiet hours!

  2. I agree with comment #1.  My family and I have been to a number of campgrounds that don’t enforce the quiet hours.  I respect a park that enforces it.  I have also been to other parks that enforce to the point that they pour water on your campfires at 11pm.  Sounds like a good family campground all in all.

  3. I also agree with comments 1 & 2. In my experience, even at regular speaking level, four couples sound like a major party going on. I don’t think I would have complained about noise at 11 p.m., but last weekend we were dealing with about four couples at 2 a.m., and it was LOUD.
