Karen & Dave Clapp gave us this review on 09/25/05. Approx Dates of Stay: 9/23/05-9/25/05. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer
Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? First of all, there is NOTHING bad about this Campround, everything and everybody are excellent. Rocky, as usual went out of his way to please everybody. This weekend there was one of their "Escape Weekends" and it's everything and more that you read about. We couldn't believe how hard the staff worked to make everyone happy and how smoothly it went, plus the food was superb and more than you could possibly eat.
Owners and Staff: When you enter the campground you get a warm welcome from the office who are all eager to help you in any way. The campground is very wooded and mostly all sites are very wooded and private.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Heavily wooded, very natural and hilly. Great area for walking and biking.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good/Bad sites: There are sites for everyone here. There isn't a bad site that I can see. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, sandy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, fire ring, The best that I have ever seen at a campground.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: There are only a few seasonal campers here. Don't even realize that they are there.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: We really didn't have to use them with our trailer and we also had one of their sites that had Kitchen area/bathroom, but I always would see the staff checking and cleaning the restrooms.
Activities and Amenities
pond, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, recreation hall, live entertainment, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, Three very entertaining playgrounds with all kinds of fun equipment, beautiful pond area that is kept very clean and everyone had fun with the boat rentals. It's getting to the end of the season but the store still had many items and had everything on sale.
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, amusements, There is so much happening at Papoose that you never ahve to leave the Campground.
Last comments: As you can probably tell,Papoose Pond has to the BEST campground out there. It's very hard for me to sit here and write about it, you really have to see it for yourself and meet Rocky and you'll feel the same way my family feels about it here, The BEST.
