Heather gave us this review on 06/22/05. Approx Dates of Stay: 6/17-6/19.
Overall Campground Rating: excellent.
What stood out? Family friendly campground with something for everyone.
Owners and Staff: Very friendly and always going out of their way to be polite and accomodating. From the general manager to custodial staff, everyone greeted us with a smile and hello.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Wooded (pine) sites in woods. Some sites are located on the pond. The plaza area was always clean.
Overall Site Quality: excellent
Good/Bad sites: This year we stayed on the same side of the road as the pond. Actually our site was on the road. Probably not the most desirable area if you have small children. We prefer the sites on the other side of the road of the pond. They are larger, more private sites. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, close to the road, sandy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise, The sites on the pond side tend to be smaller and less private. The waterfront sites are not private and are small. I think if we stayed here when we were tenting we might still be tenting. Almost every site has a dining shelter and some even have a kitchen and shower on the site!
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: I didn't see any seasonal sites.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers.
Activities and Amenities
pond, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, tv or movies, playground, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, We were talking to the general manager and he said next year they are building a 30'x60' heated swimming pool that they hope to have ready by this time next year! We've always said we wished they would build a pool and now they are!
What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, In Norway there's Walmart, grocery stores, shopping, etc.
Last comments: We stayed for the all inclusive weekend. Papoose pond cooked all the meals including a steak and lobster dinner Saturday night! Also, all the rentals were free. This was a great way to start the summer. Also, due the all of the rain the beach was flooded. They hoped that it would be back to normal within a week or two.

I’m so glad to read yet another great review of Papoose Pond. My husband and I are going up at the end of September for an all-inclusive weekend. I can hardly wait. Thanks for your review. We’re staying on the side across the road from the pond. I’ve heard about the highway noise though. Is it really bad?
