Approx Dates of Stay: July 18 - 20. Overall Campground Rating: fair. What stood out? While the campground was very neat and clean, we found it very difficult to sleep. We were located over in the "letter section" and between the noise from Rt. 2, the fire whistle and the lack of campground enforcement of "quiet" time, we were only able to sleep from 2:00 am to 7:00 am. Because this area is pretty far from the office, other campers felt it was okay to make tons of noise (music blaring, climbing trees and breaking branches for firewood etc.) Although we complained on Friday night, noise continued on Saturday night. We were escorted to our site by a staff member in a golf cart which was a nice touch, however there were no instructions given as to where to set up our tent, so we chose a grassy area toward the back of the site near the trees. Several hours later a camp truck came by and told us we couldn't set up on the grass, that we had to set up on the gravel because we were ruining the grass. A tent on gravel? Ouch! Owners and Staff: Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. In spite of the lack of quite hours enforcement, they were great. Camp landscaping and surroundings: Campground is very hilly. If you are camping to the left of the office, it is flatter with more shaded sites. If you are camping behind the office, it is very hilly, some sites have shade while others had full sun.
Overall Site Quality: good. Good/Bad site #'s: We were in site Q. This site was good if you knew your neighbors as there is absolutely no privacy and they are long an narrow. If you are in a pop-up, site R is nice because you can turn your door to the other side and have a stone wall and woods in front of you for privacy. Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, somewhat small, close to the road, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise, group camping area. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers.
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Very clean, but be sure to check out what time they are closed for cleaning. Ours was closed from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Long walk to next closest bathroom if you really gotta use one!
Activities and Amenities: pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, video games, live entertainment, bingo, playground, theme weekends, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Well stocked store, several playgrounds, boat rentals, mini-golf. Hilly! What is nearby? Close to area casinos. Plan a 30 min ride to get anywhere from here. Last comments: Although it is very neat and clean, I don't think I'll be going back. Between the highway noise, fire whistle and rude campers (better quiet time enforcement is necessary here), kids were overtired, and we couldn't wait to get home to sleep.
