Approx Dates of Stay: May 17-19, 2002. Overall Campground Rating: excellent. Beautiful campground, on a lake with small sandy beach, 2 playgrounds, mini-golf, rec hall with snack bar, endless activities for adults and children. Restrooms/showers were immaculate. The campground obviously caters to RV's and has a large seasonal population. Staff was very helpful. Upon arrival, we were escorted right to our site by a staff member in a golf cart. A nice touch we thought.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Beautiful property set into a hillside. Some sites, especially those behind the camp store, were terraced so that each site was higher than the one in front of it. Clean lake with small beach for swimming. Fishing also. Overall Site Quality: very good. Good or Bad sites: The sites in the 150's and 160's were relatively large and shaded although there was little screening between the sites.

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, semi-private, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, group camping area. Most of the lakefront sites were open and sunny, or taken by seasonal campers. The majority of the campground was shaded by tall trees. The only downside was that these trees offered little privacy between abutting sites. The entire campground was immaculate...not a thing out of place. Each site has picnic table and fire ring. Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, friendly campers.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Showers metered or free? free. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments: Although the campground caters to RV's, there were some primitive tenting areas. Except for those few sites on the lake, the tenting areas were farthest from the 2 bath houses.

Activities and Amenities: pool, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, recreation hall, live entertainment, playground, kids planned activities, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Camp store was well stocked with necessities and non-necessities alike. Two playgrounds, one located right on the lake. Coffee and donuts on Sunday mornings. It rained the weekend we were there so we didn't fully check out the rec hall and activities. Mini-golf on site.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, ocean or lake, nature trails. Easily accessible for Mystic Seaport (southern CT) and Norwich areas. Many attractions within 30 minutes drive. Any last comments: Wonderful campground. We are looking forward to returning.
