Bozrah, CT -

Pat Droney gave us this review on 07/31/05. Approx Dates of Stay: July 23-25.

Overall Campground Rating: very good.

What stood out? Very nice lakefront campground; pool was in excellent condition, although not heated; new hot tub; very large site, and they escort you to your site so there is no hunting around. Only complaint is that our gray hookup was clogged and maintenance people piled dirt on our electric/water hookups when they dug it up. When they replaced the gray water hookup, it was too high off the ground and our tank wouldn't drain properly.

Owners and Staff: Pretty friendly overall. No complaints that stand out. Very attentive to campground. Always seemed to be someone around. Picked up garbage at sites daily.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Pretty much wooden sites; pretty large campground; hilly sites also, although we didn't stay in that part; some highway noise, but not bad.

Overall Site Quality: very good

Good/Bad sites: Didn't really take notice Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: wooded, large and spacious, picnic table, fire ring, highway noise, group camping area.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, Didn't really interact with seasonals, but they seemed a little "stand-off-ish".

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? no. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: Little bit of a walk from some sites, but overall pretty good. Kept very clean.

Activities and Amenities

pool, pond, lake, swimming, fishing, boating, boat rentals, video games, live entertainment, tv or movies, playground, theme weekends, camp store, ice cream, AM coffee, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. Store pretty well stocked; excellent ice cream selection (kids loved the chocolate cupcake kind); went on 25th anniversary weekend. Had some real bogus fireworks (less than one minute).

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, retail stores, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casino's about a 20 minute drive. Ocean is about a half hour or so.

Last comments: Would definitely stay there again. Nice short hop for us to get to from where we live.
