Mystic CT -
Carl and Sharon gave us this review on 04/22/07. Dates of Stay: March 2007. Will You Return? No. What did you camp in? Motor Home - Size of Camping Unit: 33'
What stood out? In all fairness we stayed the first week they became a KOA. So there was a lot of chaos and construction going on. I was told by friends what a wonderful place this was and was very disappointed. If you are a gambler, this is the place for you. Way to pricey for everyday campers.
Owners and Staff: The staff was very busy trying to understand the new KOA system. They cannot be faulted.
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Some of tree branch's are very low. The roads are dirt (mud in our case) and the sites I feel were small and not level.
Campsite hookups: electric, No Water or Sewer at this time Campsite Descriptions: semi-private, The sites were very hard to level the rig. Looking at others comments they too had the same problems. This compounded by mud made for a unhappy camper. Fifth Wheels and Travel Trailers would not be as badly affected. They have a lot more Vertical play than a Motor Home.
Comments on restrooms and showers: Couldn't tell because they were all closed.
Dumping, Store and Pool closed.
What is nearby? restaurants, ocean or lake, Gambling, if you are into that. Mystic Seaport is about 7-10 miles down the road. Great place to visit. Beaches in RI are maybe twenty miles, great beaches there.
Last comments: Over all We feel 44 dollars a night (winter rates) with KOA card is to steep for just a site without water and sewer and no dumping. That was closed too.
