Warren, NH -
Rob L. gave us this review on 07/28/08. Dates of Stay: 07-18 to 07-26, 2008. Will You Return? Yes. What did you camp in? Travel Trailer - Size of Camping Unit: 30'
What stood out? The campground is one of our favorites. I'd like to see them add more activities during the week.
Owners and Staff: Friendly and helpful
Camp landscaping and surroundings: Large wooded sites, gravel bottom
Good sites: 12-21 close to the pool, w/e/s/c Bad sites: 26, down slope of the road, very muddy when it rains.
Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, cable, wifi w/e/s/c all close on proper side of site Campsite Descriptions: wooded, semi-private, large and spacious, close to the road, sandy bottom, pine needle bottom, picnic table, They have the best firepits of any campground I've stayed at...most are made from several huge boulders and set off far enough to the side where they are not in the way of your awning.
Cell Phone Service: NO service w/ verizon. The nearest spot we found to get service was to go out to RT. 118 and head toward Lincoln. When you get to the high point of 118 we were able to get service.
Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly,
Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers:
pool, swimming, fishing, recreation hall, video games, pool table, live entertainment, bingo, playground, camp store, ice cream, snack bar, pets allowed, laundry room, dumping station, I'd like to see them add a baseball field.
What is nearby? nature trails. Polar caves about 20 minutes away, Clark's Trading post about 35 minutes.
Last comments: The only thing that I would like to see them improve upon is the activity schedule during the week. Saturday seems to be the only day there is a full schedule.

This is by for our favorite campground. No matter where we go nothing compares(for us anyway). My kids never do the planned activites(even when they were smaller) so it is perfect for us. We will be going the week of the 16th. We are tring a new site this year #18 closer to the pool with all the ammenities. We will miss our regular site but it looks very nice so I am sure we will adapt. LOL

I agree one of our favorite campgrounds. Haven’t been there in years though. Do they allow you to pick your own site now?
Posted by Bob (NEC) on 08/08/08
We have always been able to pick our site and have been going yearly for 9 years.

Ok - I wonder if we didn’t get to pick because all of our stays were for 4 days or less. Thanks for the clarification! I love Moose Hillock as well!

We are also going there the week of the 16th. It will be our first time at this campground & I have read a lot of good reviews. We will be there for 1 week with 2 other families. We will be in site 22. Does anyone know how this site is? I guess the stream is behind us? I hope we have good weather. I have heard they have has a lot of rain lately up in that area.
