Web site: Megunticook Campground by the Sea
That's Camping Review: (1999 review) Very nice campground in a beautiful setting. Noise was a big complaint though. Loud highway sound and an annoying fog horn that blew all night-don't know if this would be an occurrence every night, or just on certain nights. If this is not a concern for you, then it is an impressive campground. Large sites, set mostly in rows. Really cute cabins, with full and twin beds. Set on the rocky ocean coast, fishing, but no swimming, (watch out for the poison ivy by the rocks). There are no ocean front sites, just a lovely deck area with a swing overlooking the sea. They have lobster/clam bakes there on Saturday nights. There is a beautiful pool, immaculate bathhouse (only one, which makes a long walk from some sites and cabins), good showers, laundry, game room, good camp store with light breakfast menu & ice-cream, and small playground. The property is landscaped exquisitely with flowers everywhere. Close to Rockland (with grocery, Wal-Mart, fast food, etc.) and Camden (a beautiful harbor town with quaint restaurants and shops), hiking, boating, mountains, beaches, and lighthouses.
