long island bridge campground (Campground Review)

Posted on June 02, 2007 - New Hampshire, NH Lakes Region, Lake Winnipesaukee

Web site: long island bridge campground

Moultonboro, New Hampshire -

Gary gave us this review on 06/02/07. Dates of Stay: may 25-28. Will You Return? Undecided. What did you camp in? Pop-up Trailer

Overall Campground Rating: fair-average.

What stood out? from the pictures on their website the water front sites and the beach area

Owners and Staff: The staff was very friendly.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: The section of the campground we were in had some grassy areas. Most of the sittes were dirt and some what level

Overall Site Quality: fair-average

Good sites: The water front sites were nice. We were able to set-up the trailer so the door faced the water, which was nice Bad sites: not sure, we did not explore the main part of the campground

Campsite hookups: electric, water. Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, close to the road, sandy bottom, grassy bottom, picnic table, fire ring, The site (No.6) was nice, although some of the boats leaving or entering the marina next door were loud.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: neat and orderly, The seasonal sites were very neat in the section we were in. None of those campers were there on this weekend.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? no. Coin-metered showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes.

Activities and Amenities

lake, swimming, boating, boat rentals, docks or moorings, playground, camp store, ice cream, laundry room, dumping station, security gate. The camp store was small and not well stocked. They had ice, ice cream, and soda.

What is nearby? restaurants, ocean or lake, amusements,

Last comments: We were very disappointed in the beach and canoe rentals. The beach was nothing like it was portrayed on the web site. It was very close to a road that ran through the section of the campground we were in. The road had an average amount of traffic. The main problem was that the beach was on a corner and the cars would drive way too fast. As for the boat rentals, I tried to rent a boat on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only to get multiple excuses as to why they were not available.

  1. Was going to respond that we had similar experiences trying to rent a canoe and then I realized we camped with you so…I second everything you said!
