We really enjoyed this campground. Although it is large it doesn't feel like you are overrun with crowds. There are over 500 sites spread out among 180 acres of wooded and open sites. The campground is family oriented offering an array of activities. There are game fields, 2 swimming pools a hot tub, playground, rec hall volleyball court, small pond and stream. There is also an adult lounge over the rec hall which has live entertainment and dancing on the weekends. The weekend we were there was Father's Day and they had a teen dance night in the rec hall and a live dance band in the lounge upstairs. They also had a trailer maneuvering contest for the Dad's that weekend which was a lot of fun. The kids enjoy the pools and the small pond for swimming and catching frogs and other creatures of interest. In addition to that there is an animal pen with sheep and other farm animals to visit.
There is a large open field of trailers which is beside the wooded area. The sites that we were at were in the wooded area and were very spacious. We had site #'s 10-11A that we shared with our friends and were able to fit 3 popups within those sites without any cramped space. The sites 11 and 11A share water and electric hookup and are intended for group rentals. There were a number of popup trailers as well as larger trailers in the woods and the sites were mostly flat and clear of rock. There were a number of tenting families as well. Again, we felt we were far enough away from the crowds but able to participate without having to walk too far.
The bathrooms were clean and a few were more rustic than others (moth's and spiders) but hey -- it's camping! The staff was very courteous and helpful. The camp store is loaded with every necessity you can dream up and also offers a deli serving breakfast, lunch and snacks. There are a number of activities scheduled every weekend including dinosaur dig excavations for the kids which my son would love. We will be back to this campground soon. I must add that this campground did quiet down nicely by the end of the day -- noise was not a problem. I highly recommend this if you are interested in a fun weekend with the family. Call ahead -- this is a popular place. We actually met campers in New Hampshire that had come to this campground as well.
