Little City, CT -

Carl and Sharon Hyde gave us this review on 07/09/06. Dates of Stay: June 30 to July 4. What did you camp in? Motor Home - Size of Camping Unit: 33'

Overall Campground Rating: very good.

What stood out? They were the Friendly beyond any Campground we stayed at. This took us back thirty-five years when Camping was Camping. The only drawback is the roads to get there. Need to know your rig.

Owners and Staff: There were open sites (no trees) and wooded sites. Very little except in one section of trashy sites. The roads were dirt and somewhat rutted (Due to very heavy rains this year). They are in the process of rebuilding. Now all the sites have 20, 30 and 50 amp service The staff was fantastic. They took you to your site and even made sure you were all right. Daily they would check on you to make sure all is ok. We cannot say enough good about the staff.

Camp landscaping and surroundings: Wooded and open areas. Very pretty area of CT., very close to Connecticut River and attractions. Pool was a hike, but plenty of parking near pool. This is not a party campground. Everybody we met was friendly and enjoyed the peace and tranquility.

Overall Site Quality: very good

Campsite hookups: primitive tent, electric, water, sewer, Campsite Descriptions: sunny and open, wooded, private, semi-private, large and spacious, picnic table, fire ring, They have a wide variety of sites there. So they can try and put you on the style you wish or care for.

Seasonal Campers and Campsites: Some of the sites were bad. Do not know if because of all the bad rains we had this year.

Clean restrooms and showers? yes. Restrooms and showers need updating? yes. free showers. Are restrooms accessible from all sites? yes. Additional comments on restrooms and showers: They are going to be rebuilding them shortly.

Activities and Amenities

pool, swimming, pets allowed, dumping station, security gate. They even deliver free newspapers to your site each morning.

What is nearby? restaurants, grocery stores, nature trails. Ct. River parks, Gillette Castle, Steam Trains, Mystic Ct and of course Casinos are a 30 mile hike if you are into that.

Last comments: We are going back again. Have been looking for a nice place to stay when we go to CT and now we found one.
